Hemp Pesto
makes 1/2 c.
-2 c. basil, loosely packed
-1/2 c. hemp seeds
-3 cloves garlic
-sprig parsley
-1/8 c. olive oil (OR half avocado)
-juice of 1/2 lemon
-1/8 tsp. salt
Mix all ingredients together in a food processor or high-powered blender until smooth. That's it. I prefer to use a 1/2 avocado instead of the olive oil, but I didn't have one today.
This recipe would work excellently with kelp noodles or zucchini pasta. It also makes a good salad dressing if you add olive oil, lemon juice, or water. Hemp seeds are the best, I use them so much.

Almost Cheesecake
I made a raw vegan cheesecake, using this recipe for Berry Cheesy Cheesecake, sans berries. I cut it up right before I left and took it to a VIVA Raw potluck. By the time I got to the table, there was once piece yet, so I didn't get a picture of it. I will definitely take a picture of the next one I make.

Wheatgrass Green Juice
I like green juice. I do not, however, like wheatgrass juice. I get shots of it when I'm out, but it's always been something I have to force myself to get down. Yesterday I went to Cafe Bliss, which is one of my top 5 restaurants in Victoria, and the only place where I'd have been able to eat everything during my 100% raw vegan phase. Anyway, I hate wheatgrass, but it's super nutritious. CONUNDRUM. Yesterday I ordered The Alkalizer (apple, celery, parlsey, lemon, 1 oz. wheatgrass) and it was decidedly palatable. So today I added wheatgrass to my green juice and again, it was good. Here is how I made the electric-green juice you are witnessing.
Wheatgrass Green Juice
makes 16 oz.
-150 g. dark leafy greens
-50 g. wheatgrass
-1 large English cucumber
...and that's it. Get ready to ~alkalize~.

Yam & Sweet Potato Fries
Hey, this blog is not dead yet. I have been inundated with school work but I am still making food (hence my continued existence). I just haven't been documenting it.
Yam & Sweet Potato Fries
-2 yams
-2 sweet potatoes
-2 tbsp. butter
-2 tbsp. lemon juice
-2 cloves garlic (crushed)
-2" sq. onion (crushed)
-1/2 tsp. fresh ground pepper
-1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
-1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
-1/4 tsp. paprika
-1/4 tsp. salt
-2 yams
-2 sweet potatoes
-2 tbsp. butter
-2 tbsp. lemon juice
-2 cloves garlic (crushed)
-2" sq. onion (crushed)
-1/2 tsp. fresh ground pepper
-1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
-1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
-1/4 tsp. paprika
-1/4 tsp. salt
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Cut yams and sweet potato in half, then slice into long strips. Mix together all the ingredient that are neither sweet potatoes or yams. Warm mixture in a pot until the butter is melted. Pour over yam and sweet potato strips. Place on pan and bake for 15 minutes. Flip fries and bake for a further 10 minutes.
